TWD- Chocolate Chunkers

Claudia of Fool for Food chose this week's recipe. I have to be honest, when I read it my first thought was, "These have a lotta things that I (and/or my husband) don't like." So I actually made the dough, took about a third of it and added cocoa powder, golden raisins, chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. And then I made plain chocolate chip cookies to the rest. Hee, hee. Honestly, the chocolate chunkers baked up beautifully and smelled really good (even though they looked exactly like these??!).

They had nice crispy edges and soft chewy centers. But the raisins in chocolate cookies really didn't do it for me. In all fairness, I'm only a fan of raisins in oatmeal cookies. I ate one, my baby (and her belly) ate one, and I threw the rest of out.

So needless to say, I'm (and my husband) glad I made chocolate chip cookies with the rest of the dough. Check out Claudia's blog for the recipe if you want (I think it will be in English?)!

  1. Oh, I love the pictures of your two hunnies!! I am afraid I opted out of this week's challenge and baked gingerbread cupcakes instead. My husband HATES chocolate and was so annoyed that we kept baking chocolate things, I thought I'd give him a break and bake something he did like!

  2. Nice save to make cookies that wouldn't be over the top just in case these didn't work out. I'm sorry you weren't a fan, but it's probably better for your waistline :)

  3. Bummer you weren't a fan. I hate throwing out baked goods. I think thats why whenever I bake I have a mental game plan of who I will pawn them off on. Usually T's CWs. HAHA. Your baby is so freaking precious!

  5. I used golden raisins in half of my cookies and didn't care for them as much as the plain chocolate. I love your picture of your sweet baby!

  7. Oh darn. Sorry they ended up in the trash heap, but that's definitely the risk of all this baking. Hopefully next one will be more to your liking. YOur baby is soooo adorable!

  11. I agree, the raisins were totally unnecessary. I'm kind of an anti-raisinite anyhow, so I automatically omit them from pretty much any recipe.

    P.S. Your baby is darling!
