You probably came here looking for the French Pear Tart. I actually wasn't going to make it as I despise pears. I did have intentions to make last week's Tall and Creamy Cheesecake because there is nothing I love more than cheesecake.
Except maybe sleep.
Yes, last night when I was going to make the cheesecake, I fell asleep. At 7:45pm.
So the Tall and Creamy Cheesecake will make its debut later this week.
I promise.
Go here for the low-down on the French Pear Tart, though!

  1. Well, we all have things we despise! People have made this with apples and peaches, so maybe one of those would suit you if you decide to make this in the future. The cheesecake is to die for, though, so I'll look forward to seeing what you think about it.

  2. I meant to go to bed that early last night as I am fighting a HORRIBLE cold. Therefore, I am jealous of you!

  3. 7:45 is impressive! The cheesecake was delicious!

  4. You're going to love the cheesecake! And maybe even the pear tart if you make it with apples or another fruit you like (I'm making a list for my next versions).

  5. OMG, 7:45pm is, like, my dream bedtime. One day...one day.

Looking forward to seeing the cheesecake!

  6. The Holidays sure can be exhausting! Your body must have needed the rest.

You'll love that cheesecake. It is amazing!

  7. I think when you have small kids, if you stop for a minute you'll fall asleep. And if that happens to be at 7:45, then so be it. I've been there MANY times! Both the cheesecake and the tart are amazing, if the opportunity for making them presents itself. The crust and the almond cream are what make the tart special -- I think that any fruit would be great if you don't like pears!

  8. are you kidding...if sleeping were a sport, i'd be a pro! :) Looking forward to your cheesecake post --- it's one of my fav recipes from the book.

    Happy New Year! Cheers!

  9. I agree with Nancy...try making this tart with something else such as apples or peaches, the almond cream alone is worth making the tart for!

  10. No way!! Are the pancakes part of barefoot bloggers this week?? Holy Cow, that is such a coincidence! Thanks for the heads up.
